Educational Lectures to Schools

Goody Goodies provides in-school presentations on fair trade and the organization's work. The presentations explain what fair trade is, how it works and why it is important. The lively graphic driven lectures explain that fair trade is a system of exchange that seeks to create a greater equity and partnership in international trading. Those goals are done by creating economic opportunities for marginalized producers from around the world. These opportunities are done in a transparent and accountable way which builds capacity within local communities while respecting cultural identity and ecologically sustainable.

The lectures are preformed by Peter Durkin, a educational lecturer registered with NEW York State BOCES, and accompanied by Goody Goodies founder Macallan Durkin - school work permitting. The dynamic interactive talks are accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation and for smaller groups, fun and fascinating activities. The programs can be tailored to your schools curriculum and grade levels or other specific needs.
